ABOUT THE EMBLEM

The heravlic simbol of Zavolzhye sity was approved by the decision of the City Council of People's Deputies dated 06.08.1984 No. 174 "On the establishment of the heraldic simbol of Zavolzhye city."

Description of the heraldic simbol

The heraldic simbol is divided into two parts - the upper and lower field.

In the upper field of the heraldic simbol, a red deer is depicted on a silver background, symbolizing the belonging of the city the Nizhniy Novgorod region.

In the lower field of the heraldic simbol, against a blue background, there are two silver symbols: at the top there is a stylized image of the Gorkovskaya hydroelectric power station dam, symbolizing the beginning of the construction of the city, at the bottom is a stylized image of a seagull over a V-shaped engine - the emblem of the Zavolzhsky Motor Plant.

The author of the heraldic simbol is the architect Vladimir Alexandrovich Goryachev.

The sketch of the heraldic simbol was approved by the architectural and artistic council of the city and a special commission of the city council of the Zavolzhye, which was created to establish the heraldic simbol.

The heraldic simbol has no state registration !!!

The existing Emblem contradicts at least three principles of constructing the Emblem approved in the Russian Federation, which makes it illegitimate and does not leave such an opportunity:

1. To date, the "bi-field" has been canceled; the coat of arms of Nizhny Novgorod cannot be present in the upper field, but only in the "free" field (if desired), while it must fully correspond to the heraldic simbol of N. Novgorod;

2. It is not permissible to put on the heraldic simbol of modern structures (in this case, the symbol of a hydroelectric power station);

3. It is not permissible to put on the heraldic simbol of the city the logo of the enterprise (in this case "ZMZ"), which is also a registered trademark.

All this became clear when I tried to get an explanation why the existing Emblem could not be registered as the heraldic simbol.

PROJECTS OF THE HERALDIC SIMBOL

The heraldic simbol projects were developed taking into account the possibility of state registration

PROJECT 1 (January 2019). Description of the heraldic simbol

In a silver-azure, cut in steps from right to left in two steps, a field displaced to the right and placed with the bottom on top of the right (lower) step is a scarlet boat with an open sail and a pennant above it.

Justification of symbolism

The azure field is a symbol of the Volga River. In this case, it indicates the presence of a high water drop due to the presence of a man-made dam and a hydroelectric power plant, as well as locks that allow river vessels to overcome these drops.

The silver field is a symbol of nobility and belonging to the Nizhny Novgorod region, in the coat of arms of which the silver field is the main and only

The scarlet boat indicates the involvement in the history of Gorodets, located on the opposite side of the Volga River, an ancient city in history, founded by Yuri Dolgoruky in 1152. In relation to Gorodets, the city got its name "Zavolzhye", although geographically the city is located on the West side of the Volga

A golden torch, or lightning, is a symbol of a light source, which is the Nizhny Novgorod hydroelectric power station, located here and giving rise to the city.

PROJECT 3 (April 2020). Description of the heraldic simbol

Justification of symbolism

Open sandors - symbolizes the Nizhny Novgorod hydroelectric power station

Part of the gear - symbolizes the Zavolzhsky Motor Plant
